Administrative Services programs provide students with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for the current and future office environment. Skills include time management, human/customer relations, administrative management, information management, oral and written communications, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, document formatting, and Internet research.
A wide variety of job opportunities are available to program graduates in many types of offices. Jobs include receptionist, office assistant, administrative assistant, medical administrative specialist, medical administrative assistant, medical office administration professions, and office applications specialist. After a few years in the field, graduates can become an executive assistant, office manager, or office coordinator. Skilled administrative professionals are expected to be in demand in several industries, including education, manufacturing, construction, financial services, employment services, health care and social assistance, local government, and energy production.
The Administrative Services Associate of Applied Science degrees are awarded for successful completion of 60 credit hours that include a common core of academic courses and a maximum selection of technical courses based upon specialization.
