Many journal articles and other resources are available via direct access on the web. Some to consider:

NEC—National Electrical Code—US regional standards created to ensure safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment.

NFPA—National Fire Protection Association—free access to various fire and electrical codes and standards. Information accessible with self created account.

EC&M—Electrical Construction & Maintenance magazine—news, technical articles, organization links, code information. Search using the menu icon. 

Khan Academy—online study/explanations of various subjects including electricity and electrical engineering.

MIT OpenCourseWare—free undergraduate courses and course materials from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in multiple subjects including electrical engineering and computer sciences. Includes lectures, videos, notes, and exams.

Organizations:

NCCER—National Center for Construction Education and Research—non profit foundation which creates and maintains standardized curricula, certification, and accreditation of various construction training programs.

IBEW—International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers—trade union for persons in the telecommunication, utilities, construction and manufacturing fields.

IECI—Independent Electrical contractors—national trade association for electrical contractors. NECA—National Electrical Contractors Association—trade association with educational, advocacy, news, and business links for the electrical construction industry.
